Superheroes are a big part of our society. A lot of people are becoming huge comic book buffs because of Hollywood films, like The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. You could even see 1 hour shows from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D on ABC to Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones on Netflix.

Superheroes could be born with their abilities or they can even get them from a freak accident. But there are a few that get them from the insect world. These superheroes are widely known and popular for being bug-inspired in the comic book universe.

The Human Fly

They might not be recognized from new comic book fans, but are by the longstanding ones. The Human Fly is in fact 2 individuals, one was a super villain who fought Spiderman and the other was a hero who appeared in his own comic book series from 1977 to 1979. The courageous Human Fly grew his power after a car accident which left most of his skeletal structure being restored with steel. He had to go through years of therapy and discipline to repair his strength. While doing this he developed extra stamina to be able to tolerate harsh falls which motivated him to become a skilled acrobat, gymnast and proficient hand-to-hand fighter. The reason he is known as the Human Fly is because of his acrobat expertise.

Spiderman (Peter Parker) is one of the most well-known superheroes, of today for his insect abilities. He was first introduced in 1962 and today he is still keeping crime at bay. He combats several villains like Kingpin, Rhino, Lizard and Scorpion. Spiderman gained his strength by being bitten by a radioactive spider in a research laboratory. His superhero abilities contain strength, agility, stamina, perseverance and the increased ability to regenerate. But his most notable abilities are climbing walls and ceilings with no problem and being able to spin and fire webs from his wrist. He gets his title Spiderman from being able to climb walls, spider senses and firing webs.

Ant-Man and The Wasp

Marvel buffs are familiar with Ant-man and Wasp. The Wasp was Ant-Man’s girlfriend and later she would become his spouse. Ant-Man is a genius scientist who developed his powers to speak with ants, shrink to the size of an ant or grow to an enormous size. Shrinking down to size doesn’t appear too intimidating but being minuscule and bearing great strength sure does. Ant-Man also designed a formula for Wasp, which would allow her to shrink to size of a wasp, fly and discharge bio-electric shocks to paralyze her foes. Ant-Man gets his name because he talks with ants and Wasp due to her bio-electric shocks known as “sting”. These two have been well-known in fighting yellow-jacket, whom has similar abilities as the two of them.

Black Widow

Another growing super heroine is Black Widow. Black Widow is a master assassin who is very intelligent and is great in hand-to-hand combat. She uses bracelets that discharge electrostatic bolts that are known as the “widow’s bite”. Due to government treatment she has been known to age slowly and she also has an increased immune system. You can see her in all The Avengers Movies and most of the solo marvel movies.

If you find yourself being overtaken by local villains like scorpions, yellow-jackets and flies, let Bulwark Exterminating fight your pest problem in Corpus Christi. Now in the real world black widows, wasps and ants can be very bothersome. Bulwark Exterminating can eradicate them too.
